How do I get to Kostergården?
Take the passenger ferry from Norra Hamnen in Strömstad to Kilesand. The boat trip takes 30-50 minutes depending on which departure you take. From here you have an 800 meter walk to Kostergården. You buy your ticket on the boat.
Where in Strömstad can I park?
Park in one of Strömstad's long-term parking lots: Hålkedalen and Bojaren. Here it costs SEK 40 / day and you can stand for up to seven days. During the summer, parking buses run from the long-term parking lots to the center where the Kosterbåten departs.
Are sheets & towels included?
Bed linen and towels are included in the price between 21 June and 15 August. In addition to this period, it is mandatory to buy bed sheets/towels for SEK 149/set. The final cleaning is optional to do yourself or to buy extra.
Are all cottages & apartments self-catering?
Yes. When you arrive there is a set of toilet paper, hand soap, dishwashing tablet, cloth and washing up liquid. After that, you have to make sure you have what you consume. Please note that there is no oven in the cottages or apartments.
How much does cleaning cost?
It costs SEK 799 for those who want to buy cleaning. For those of you who choose to clean your accommodation yourself, there is cleaning materials in each apartment/cottage. Please note that the dishes must be picked up and the rubbish emptied, regardless of whether you have bought cleaning or not.
What do I need to bring with me?
All cabins are equipped for self-catering. It is good to bring bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing tablets, spices for cooking and a happy mood of course!
Can I bring pets?
Pets are warmly welcome with us, there are special accommodations where pets are allowed. Talk to us and we will find the right accommodation for you and your four-legged friend!
Is there a grocery store on the island?
Yes. There is an ICA store with limited opening hours two kilometers from Kostergården.
Are there restaurants on the island?
Yes, there are six restaurants at Sydkoster.
Can I rent a bike on site?
Yes, there are bikes for rent on the island. During summer there is usually high pressure on the rentals and they can sometimes run out - so it's important to be out in good time! You can also bring your own bicycle for a fee on the ferry.
What time do I have to check out?
Check-in at the earliest 15.00 Check-out at the latest 11.00 In case of late check-out, this must be booked in advance by email at booking@kostergarden.se for a fee.
Where can I find the nearest beach?
The Kilesand beach, which stretches 900 meters, is right in front of Kostergården. In other words, you are only a stone's throw away from a morning swim!
